Advanced Training for AT/Tele/Hiking Boot Specialists
Masterfit U isn’t just about alpine and snowboard bootfitting! Backcountry Connection at MFU is a parallel Master’s Course track for retailers who specialize in Alpine Touring, Telemark and hiking boots.
Backcountry Connection attendees learn the biomechanics and assessment skills that are cross-platform for all footwear fitting (click here for complete Master’s Course description) but study discipline-specific topics in the frequent breakout sessions that are part of the Master’s Course.
The Backcountry Connection program has been developed and will be taught by veteran MFU instructor Bob Gleason of the Boot Doctors in Telluride and Taos. The “dean” U.S. ski bootfitting, Gleason has worked in product development of Telemark and AT boots.
He will be joined by Bob Egeland, a Certified Pedorthist with a long track record in hiking and backcountry boot fitting. Egeland spent 20 years as a Vasque hiking boot rep and has taught footwear fitting to retailers under the “Fit to You” name for five years.
